In the Middle East organ music is perceived as a specific contribution of Christians to world culture, as organs are present almost exclusively in churches. The Lebanese Pipe Organ Week is a great cultural occasion that allows everyone (of any religious affiliation) to listen for free to a musical repertoire, to which people would not otherwise have access, since pipe organs are mainly used in churches for religious celebrations. The Sol Festival is the only event in Lebanon dedicated to organ music and is the only festival in Lebanon that aims to extend throughout the country, while the other festivals are geolocalized in specific places.
